Di Emme provided the central artwork, the textured finish on the walls, and the details on the plinths that flank the artwork.

Di Emme was commissioned to provide the central artwork. Chaumet’s Paris-based designer provided imagery from around the world as the starting point. Di Emme developed the artwork from a photograph of a canyon in the New South Wales Blue Mountains in a style referencing other Chaumet jewellery stores. Di Emme was to take inspiration from a local landscape and create an artwork that did not resemble a conventional landscape painting. Texture swatches on canvas and a 1:1 digital sample were shared with Paris, and once approved the canvas was finished in the Leichhardt studio.

Di Emme’s brief was to take inspiration from a local landscape and create an artwork unlike a conventional landscape painting.

Di Emme also created the detail on the plinths for the jewellery cabinets that flank the artwork, and the textured finish on the walls behind the plinths. Chaumet supplied samples which Di Emme reproduced in textured plaster with  a gold patina finish.
