Silk sculpture at Nu Bambu Restaurant

Silk Sculpture at Nu Bambu Restaurant is one of many sculptures created by Di Emme.

Nu Bambu, at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL is part of a growing trend for clubs to offer incredible food in unique surroundings. Diners enjoy inspired Asian-fusion fare from chef Freddie Salim, ex-Longrain and Sokyo, in a distinctive space from Paul Kelly Design.

An impressive crimson sculpture soars above solid timber communal tables. Conceived by Paul Kelly and crafted by Di Emme, the sculpture is comprised of an 8-metre wire armature artfully wrapped in custom Shibori-dyed fabric and is strategically illuminated to exaggerate the interior frame.

Nu Bambu’s characteristic feature wall is another Di Emme decorative wall finish masterwork, made with hand-trowelled Marmarino with a tinted wax finish. Subtle gradations in tone and colour add surface authenticity.
