Cartier Brisbane Reimagined with the Essence of Queensland

Cartier Brisbane occupies the corner of Edward and Elizabeth Streets in Queensland’s most prestigious retail precinct. The luxury Parisian jeweller recently reopened the Brisbane boutique with bright, contemporary finishes and furnishings evocative of the Queensland clime replacing traditional oak cladding and bronze tones. The iconic Cartier Panthére still has a place albeit on the banks of the Brisbane River and flanked by Australian fauna.

The expansive boutique covers 240 square metres and two storeys, with private viewing rooms and comfortable lounge areas on the second level supporting an immersive shopping experience.

Cartier approached Di Emme to produce applied finishes and artworks for the reimagined boutique and provided inspiration and guidance while entrusting Di Emme artisans with creative licence.

Gold and platinum gilding

Precious metals are synonymous with luxury. Di Emme created bespoke platinum and gold finishes for Cartier and applied them onsite on the elegantly rounded columns and chic recessed ceiling.

Great Barrier Reef panels

Cartier supplied Di Emme with an aerial photograph of The Whitsundays and a range of textured patinas as inspiration for an artwork for the stairwell. Di Emme produced 1:1 samples and designs to demonstrate colours and finishes resonant of the Barrier Reef. The final artwork is a series of panels with textured plaster finished with a pearly layer. Di Emme completed the artwork in the Leichhardt studio allowing for a swift onsite installation.

Bougainvillea wall

Di Emme created the artwork for the distinctive bougainvillea concept for the Cartier VIP room. The artwork has a two-tone finish of ‘Cartier Gold’ and soft textured polished stucco. The hand-drawn artwork was produced along with several samples and sent to Paris for final signoff.

Di Emme produced the unique artwork on a single canvas using a combination of computer-cut stencils and hand-applied finishes. Di Emme installed the completed canvas onsite just days before the grand reopening.
