When the Bay Vista dessert bar owners opened a Parramatta venue, they wanted to recreate the signature mural from the Brighton-Le-Sands cafe. The original mural was painted onto raw brick but the Parramatta mural would be painted on tile.

Di Emme undertook sampling and prototyping to ensure they had the appropriate primers, paints and topcoats to create a durable design.

Similar to photographs in a newspaper, perforated metallic pictures form images from a series of dots. For the Chatswood Interchange, Di Emme translated a floral design into artwork and organised the fabrication and installation of the metallic panels.

Gold leaf lettering against a concrete ground creates a strong graphic element highlighted by dramatic lighting in this cosy dessert space.

In a fresh approach to mural making, Di Emme printed on the walls of District 8. This involved creating digital files, prepping the surface, painting the backgrounds, printing in situ and hand touch up.
